Lexus continues “The Pursuit of Perfection” with a new concept that has us crossing our fingers just to have the chance to lounge in one. The Lexus LF-NX will be unveiled on Sept. 10 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and it is making an incredible impression on the future of Lexus SUVs already. Compared to Lexus’s GX or LX models, the LF-NX concept is an animal of a completely different breed.
A beautiful design sculpted to look powerful and vicious makes up the exterior, giving the LF-NX “muscular” wheel arches and a body crafted like a diamond. The shape of the concept is meant to give a distinct look that, under profile, may appear to be a coupé rather than an SUV. On the front and back you’ll find lamp clusters that distinguish an innovative, powerful look from every direction.
Inside you find nothing other than tomorrow’s technology completely focused on the driver. The environment inside the cockpit bellows out innovation, is what Lexus calls “human oriented” and reaches for their “L-finesse” design that we’re familiar with from the well favored LFA supercar, and then some. Touch-sensitive electrostatic switches surround the cockpit, along with a Remote Touch Interface (RTI) layout to give full power to the driver, literally at their fingertips.
If this is Lexus’ introduction to an ‘L’ SUV, then what else might they have in store? We hope to see a whole new ‘L’ line-up, hopefully including a new LFA. But nothing is for certain while Lexus continues to spoil us with some of the best eye-candy on the market.
