Lexus continues its pursuit of perfection with the newly designed LX570. We’ve seen this bold SUV on the streets and even read about it in the press releases, but now we had the chance to get a glimpse of one first hand. While Lexus sees their pursuit as an unreachable achievement that pushes them to surpass the competition, we thought they perfected this year’s large SUV quite well. We even had the opportunity to take it on a road trip to the world renowned Ferrari Challenge.
Approaching the LX570, you see a much more subtle look than what’s been seen in the LX series of the past. The front end has been remodeled for a thicker, bolder look that seamlessly blends to the rear. The entire vehicle is built for performance, luxury and, most importantly, safety. With crumple zones throughout the structure and electronically controlled shock absorbers, you feel prepared for anything. Also standard are LED dual-swivel adaptive headlights with rain-sensing variable intermittent wipers to improve sight without having to lift a finger from the wheel.
The interior of the LX570 is best described with two words: “comfort” and “luxury.” The voice activated GPS system performs on an impressive level and is built in with a nine speaker audio system. The SUV boasts three different driving modes, Comfort, Normal and Sport, to adjust the electronic suspension system to match your needs and the feel of the road. While most manufacturers focus primarily on just the front seats, the rear seats of the LX570 are heated, adjustable and recline, allowing for genuine comfort for everyone along the ride.
Lexus has equipped their SUV with a 5.7-Liter V8 DOHC engine producing 383 hp and 403 lbs-ft of torque to make it not only fun to drive, but capable of towing your toys. The vehicle hosts new technologies such as multi-terrain anti-lock assist systems, electronic brake force distribution, vehicle stability control, trailer sway control and much more. On our road trip we primarily traveled along the highway, and while this didn’t allow for us to experiment with bumpy terrain, it showed us just how smooth and quiet the ride of this vehicle is.
The LX570 is a family oriented vehicle that’s ready to work with the kids, and their friends, in the back seats. You’ll find that once it becomes yours, you’ll have a fantastic driving experience from a large SUV with a wide variety of uses. We recommend this to parents with a large family and lots of toys, or to those that simply love SUVs, as this is an SUV for the enthusiast. See it for yourself at your local Lexus dealer now.
