You can learn volumes of information by listening closely to a car’s exhaust. Many enthusiasts can even identify the make and model just by its soundtrack. In a YouTube video uploaded yesterday, 40 Perform gives us the opportunity to experience a later model Lamborghini Diablo VT lining up against a Porsche 918 Spyder.
The Italian competitor packs a naturally aspirated 6.0L V12 in the neighborhood of 575 hp with a Viscous Traction AWD system. Representing Stuttgart, the 918 Spyder uses a 4.6L V8 along with two motor/generators to make 887 hp. Owners of these cars are normally hesitant to push them to the limit, but it might not be a fair fight. The shift linkage and clutch of the Diablo are not the most user friendly, which would explain the leisurely shift speeds. Take a look at the other cars in the staging lanes, and let us know who you think would win. Stay tuned to Autofluence for more exotics in action.
