Another Friday has arrived, and our friends at AutoTopNL have released new footage of incredible Autobahn acceleration. If you thought last week’s Novitec F12 video was impressive, you might enjoy an Italian of a different flavor. Lamborghini’s Superleggera was a featherweight version of the Gallardo tuned to 570 hp. Most of the pleasantries were replaced by carbon fiber to offer a curb weight under 3,000 lbs. Needless to say, it has a power-to-weight ratio that sits among the fastest cars of all time. So, let’s jump on this raging bull.

Many Italian enthusiasts will never accept the notion that Audi shares engineering insights with Lamborghini, but the Gallardo Superleggera and the R8 GT share many components. A version of Quattro all-wheel drive can be found under the Gallardo, which makes it feel right at home merging onto the German superhighway. Keep an eye on the inset of the speedometer as the 5.2L V10 Plus allows the driver to overtake traffic with ease. This particular example has been modified by RFK Tuning, who have made a name for themselves by digging deep into the engine’s programming to extract power that others are unable to find. Being a lightweight helps with acceleration but it can make for a twitchy nature at high speeds. Our friend Sam Hampton lost his life in his Superleggera on the highway, so please do not attempt anything you see here on public roads. Thank you to AutoTopNL for the amazing footage.
