According to a Dec. 4 article on Lamborghini Newport Beach’s blog, a customer arrived at their dealership and paid for a Tesla Model S with bitcoins. This is the company’s very first sale with bitcoins as a legal tender, and certainly won’t be the last.
“Lamborghini Newport Beach is proud to announce that we are fully capable of accepting Bitcoin as legal tender for vehicles,” said Lamborghini Newport Beach in a Dec. 5 article from BusinessInsider.com. They continued to say, “We are excited to be opening the door to this new currency.”
We’re glad to see dealerships accepting new ways for customers to purchase vehicles. With the recent rise in the prominence of electronic currency, it’s sure to take off with many other companies.Other organizations such as Virgin Galactic have also begun accepting bitcoins as payment, setting an example for businesses worldwide to begin adapting to the new currency.
