If you thought Lamborghini wouldn’t celebrate their 50th anniversary in a big way, you are sorely mistaken. To keep the festivities rolling, Lamborghini will be unveiling a new concept for the Gallardo replacement later this year. According to Autocar, the new concept car will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Many changes are expected in this car, including, longer wheelbase, overall length, new interior layout, “edgy” new exterior, and more. The power for this car will be coming from a tuned version of the Gallardo’s 5.2-liter V10, which will be around 600bhp and 400 lb-ft of torque. While Lamborghini’s new supercar will be offered in the standard four-wheel-drive, they are also planning on creating rear-wheel-drive version of it as well.
As far as names go, its all up in the air. It comes with the codename “LP724”, but the official name may be the “Lamborghini Cabrera” according rumors. Cabrera would be an appropriate name as it follows Lamborghini’s tradition of naming supercars after a line of Spanish bulls.
