The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series made its US debut this year. Spots were limited and entry fees were high but for the competitors who made it in, it was one heck of a race. As Tom O’Gara of O’Gara Coach Company put it, “The racing was really competitive this weekend with a high level of talent.” O’Gara himself drove the No. 69 Isoclima Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo alongside brand manager Parris Mullins, which took eighth place.
The opening round of this prestigious and exclusive series ended with a victory for the powerhouse team of Global Motor Sports Group and Lamborghini of Beverly Hills. The two GMG drivers, Lee Davis and Ryan Eversley drove the No. 33 Luna-C Racing Lamborghini. Between the two they have multiple GRAND-AM and Pirelli World Challenge wins, making this race seem almost unfair. Although a win is never unwelcome, in this series winning truly isn’t everything. This one of a kind race was designed to demonstrate just how accessible the true experience can be for those lucky enough to own a Lamborghini.
The No. 69 Isoclima Lamborghini driven by Lamborghini Beverly Hills Owner Tom O’Gara and Brand Manager Parris Mullins finished in 8th place. “I’m thrilled with our debut,” stated Mullins. “The racing was really competitive this weekend with a high level of talent so I was pretty pleased with how we finished, and Tom and I are really enjoying the experience so far. GMG has done a great job delivering a solid race car for this exciting series Lamborghini has brought to North America.” O’Gara added, “These amazing cars are meant to be raced, so it’s a great pleasure to take part in the series.
The next stop for participants in the series is the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City from August 17-18. The series will come to an end where Lamborghini began, Italy. Here the US champions will take to the track alongside series winners from Asia and Europe. If you were on the fence about a possible Lamborghini purchase, this should certainly change your mind. Not only are they amazing supercars, but they come with a once in a lifetime opportunity.
