The artist selected 999 pieces of the vehicle that will be turned into NFTs.
The artist known as SHL0MS has come up with quite the project for the sake of NFTs and it involves an exploding supercar. SHL0MS decided to take a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, loaded it up with explosives, and blew it up. Why? To create 999 pieces of the exploded Lamborghini that will then be turned into individual NFTs. Each of the 999 pieces will be recorded in their own 4K video and offered up as an NFT with the auction for them starting on February 25th.
As for the auction itself, it’s being called the $CAR auction as each of the pieces will be called a $CAR. Those who happen to bid or even win one of the NFTs should know that the proceeds from the auction will fund more artistic installations. So, while many may think NFTs projects are all about making a quick buck, at least know this one is going towards even more art.
I will note that it’s always nice to see an art project that’s off the wall, and this one fits the bill considering they blew up a car. And while NFTs may not be for everyone, you can at least appreciate the time and effort involved in this one. I mean, SHL0MS had to not only buy a car but also hire an explosives expert to blow it up, find 999 pieces in the blast radius, then film each one, and then mint them.
