The new Jaguar XE was unveiled in a press release issued by the British automaker today. This new rear-wheel drive, midsize model sits between the XF and XJ models, completing the Jaguar saloon car range.
The press release states that the XE will go on sale in 2015 with various engine options, including the range-topping XE S. Powering the XE S is a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 capable of producing 335 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque.

Combined with an aluminum-intensive lightweight construction and an eight-speed automatic transmission, the XE S can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and top out at an electronically-limited speed of 155 mph. Jaguar touts in the press release that the XE is the lightest and stiffest saloon they have ever made.
Joining the V6 in engine options are the efficient 3.0-liter, four-cylinder gas and diesel engines, mated with either the six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Jaguar XE will have a starting price of £27,000, which is roughly $43,500 USD.
Full details of the XE range will be unveiled by Jaguar at the Paris Motorshow in October.
