After a group of 75 automotive journalists from around the world deliberated and voted over the course of a year, the winners of the 2015 World Car Awards were announced at the New York International Auto Show, with Mercedes-Benz grabbing the lion’s share of recognition.
The German manufacturer managed to win recognition for World Car of the Year, World Luxury Car and World Performance Car, while the design and green energy awards went to creations from Citroen and BMW, respectively. Literally months went into the deliberation process, as the World Car of the Year (WCOTY) website notes, with nominees for the categories first being presented in July and August, 2014.
