If you thought the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor was powerful enough as it was, then you’re going to have your mind blown. The soon-to-be outdated 2011-2014 model of the Ford SVT Raptor is going to get a boost of power, thanks to Shelby American. How big of a boost will they be giving the truck? Enough to crank up its output from 411 hp to over 700 hp.
This truck is being called the Shelby American Baja 700 Edition Raptor, and it will be the most powerful production Shelby truck in history, according to an April 10 press release from Shelby American. The main source of the added power is a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger. Other additions that aid in the power increase include bigger throttle bodies and injectors and a “more robust” heat exchanger.
“In the best Shelby tradition, we took our already high-performance 575 horsepower Shelby Raptor and made it even more capable,” said Shelby American Vice President of Operations Akos J. Feher in the press release. “Fifty lucky owners will have the baddest, best-handling and best-looking Shelby truck we offer. Not to mention, all of the interior fit-and-finish people expect from Shelby. It’s a truck that can thrive under the most extreme conditions.”
Yes, you read that correctly: there will only be 50 examples of the Shelby Baja 700 created. Each come with BFGoodrich K02 All-Terrain tires, special edition graphics and badging, Shelby striping, custom 18-inch wheels and optional Rogue Racing front and rear bumpers.
The price for this limited edition truck starts at $45,000, not including the price of the base Raptor. Each model they craft will be number and will be entered into the official Shelby Registry.
