Going up for sale at RM Auctions’ August 15-16 Monterey event is an incredibly rare 1965 Ford GT40 Roadster Prototype, according to a lot listing on RMAuctions.com.
Just twelve GT40 prototypes were produced and only four of them were roadsters. This very GT40 Roadster Prototype is chassis number GT/108, being the eighth prototype produced.
This car is being sold with two decades of single ownership and a body that is in original form. Adding to the car’s value is the fact that it was used by Shelby American for testing and development, with Carroll Shelby even getting behind the wheel.
An estimated value for this car has not been given yet, but be sure to stay tuned for more information on RM Auctions’ Monterey auction.
