Ford is welcoming a new truck to their lineup, the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor. To me, its the spiritual successor to the infamous Ford Lightning, with both of them being two-door versions of the F-150 with tons of power under the hood.
Pumping out the power for the all-new Tremor is a 3.5-liter Ti-VCT EcoBoost engine, making it the first EcoBoost-powered sport truck. This engine allows the owner to get the power of a V8 engine without the drain on gas. It provides 365 hp on regular fuel, and 420 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 rpm. To help handle the power is a launch-optimized 4.10 rear axle and a six-speed automatic transmission. Also, twin independent variable camshaft timing is improved for more performance and better fuel economy.
“The new Tremor gives F-150 customers yet another option to drive a highly capable, distinctive performance truck with features typically found only in the aftermarket,” said Brian Bell, F-150 product marketing manager. “Plus, the Built Ford Tough EcoBoost engine is available for the first time in a short-wheelbase F-150.”
In the aesthetics department, the Tremor is very striking. It features a custom-inspired FX Appearance Package that comes with flat-black accents, 20-inch flat black wheels, graphics and black badges with red lettering. It is also the only regular-cab F-150 to have a flow-through center console with bucket seats. The interior also has black leather seats, metal accents, a floor shifter, a red-stitched steering wheel and Alcantara seat inserts.
