The Guinness World Record were at Kennedy Space Center over the weekend, but they weren’t there for anything related to space. No, they were there because a 2006 Ford GT was about to blow away the previous standing mile record by almost 25 mph.
This Ford GT was tuned by Performance Power Racing and it gets about 1,700hp sent to its rear wheels. So what does all of that power translate to in terms of speed?
The car was driven by the owner of Performance Power Racing, Johnny Bohmer. What is strange about Bohmer’s Ford GT is that it can go 283 mph, is street legal AND has air conditioning.
