The F-150 has held it’s spot as one of the most popular trucks in truck history, and now Ford is looking to make it the staple vehicle in police and government fleets.
The all new 2016 Ford F-150 comes with a specially designed Special Service package specifically calibrated to meet the needs of law enforcement. The package is customizable, giving agencies the ability to choose the options that will best suit their specific needs. According to a Ford press release, options include, “4×4 or 4×2 drivetrain, along with the 5.0-liter V8 or high-torque 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine to ensure there is never a lack of power.”
The truck is also equipped with amenities designed specifically for easy clean up and extended idle times. These features include vinyl flooring instead of carpet and a “high-output 240-amp alternator.”
Other police vehicles the veteran vehicle maker offers include the Expedition Special Service Vehicle and the Transit Prisoner Transport Vehicle, among others.
