We have been peering over sketches and renderings for quite some time now, but thanks to a leak in a Dec. 2 article on AutoGuide.com, we can finally see what the all new Ford Mustang will actually look like. The 2015 horse is coming in hot with a refresh that changes both aesthetic and mechanical aspects.
In the image we see the silhouette of a normal Mustang, but upon closer inspection, the changes become very apparent. The headlights are slim and wrap around the corners of the front end. From the side, the line from the roof to the tail appears to be straighter than the current models, which have more curve to their rear window and C pillar.
The rear received some touching up as well. The Mustang emblem appears between the slightly updated taillights, but without a bezel. A rear diffuser is also noticeable in the leaked images, hinting that the images may be of a GT version.
Most importantly, this is the first year that the Mustang utilizes independent rear suspension. This change has been hinted at for years now, but we can finally say that it’s here. Many Mustang purists may cry foul, but it’s nice to see the Mustang catching up with the times and global markets.
Be sure to check back on Dec. 5 when the 2015 Mustang will be officially unveiled on Good Morning America
