On March 13, we covered a 1964 Ford GT40 Prototype that was set to cross the block at Mecum Auctions’ Houston 2014 event. This car has gone through a lot of trials and tribulations, winning races, breaking down, being repaired and then being forgotten in a garage until it was ultimately restored in 2010.

The GT40 Prototype went under the hammer over the weekend in Houston and sold for an astonishing $7 million. The buyer has remained anonymous, but whoever they are, they now own an astonishing piece of automotive history.
