The Ferrari FXX-K has broken ground and landed at the top of the product-design pile this year. In a press release today from Ferrari, announced that the FXX-K was named the Red Dot Best of the Best vehicle in the category of ground-breaking design and premium build quality.
Out of 5,000 creative entries from 56 nations, the prestigious Red Dot panel of judges chose the Ferrari Style Centre’s idea of a hypercar on steroids for the award ceremony’s 60th anniversary. As we saw in a Feb. 13 video from Ferrari, the FXX-K is the epitome of form and function perfectly blended on the track, a smear of glowing brakes and laboratory witchcraft under its flawless carbon fiber skin.
The Red Dot Awards, the world’s leading product design competition, is the penultimate arena for top design companies to receive credit for their work. As the release describes, the panel of judges consists of an elite group of renowned designers, design professors and special journalists from 25 countries. Celebrating its sixth decade of design influence, the Red Dot awards are the golden standard product companies aspire to.
