When Luca di Montezemolo was heading Ferrari, he instilled into everyone that an entry-level car from the Italian automaker would never happen. Now, with Sergio Marchionne in charge, it seems as though the company’s stance has changed drastically.
Jonny Lieberman, Senior Features Editor of Motor Trend, tweeted on April 5: “Ferrari has a TT V6 car coming, aimed at Porsche Turbo S, AMG GT, and McLaren 570S. $180K, 2019.”
In those 95 characters, he announced a creation that will shake the exotic car world. In the same tweet, he also included the hashtags “#dino” and “#dinolives,” which are references to the Ferrari Dino of the 1960s and ’70s. The Dino was what Ferrari considered an affordable sports car and marketed it as such.
Will this new entry-level Ferrari bear the Dino name? Will it actually be produced? These are questions yet to be answered, but you can be sure that we will have them here.
