If you want to be polite in Japan, please leave your shoes at the door. Learning the ways of eastern culture can be overwhelming at first, so Nissan has developed self-parking slippers. If you arrive back to your hotel in Hakon, the sight of self-aware footwear might have you questioning how much Sake you had. That's because Nissan's ProPilot Park system has been scaled down from the Leaf in order to fit inside a sandal. Sensors in the soles and a micro control board are used to guide them back to where they belong. For now, the only Nissan vehicle to offer the system is their all-electric Leaf, and it was introduced for the 2017 model year.
