A turquoise sky bounced off the asphalt at the Boca Raton Aviation Center in Florida on Feb. 21. Small aircraft began landing left and right as guests arrived in private planes as most would arrive in cars at the duPont REGISTRY Live Hangar Party. Kicking off the Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance, the Live Hangar Party presented some of the world’s best in home and personal accessories, food and transportation to hundreds of people of all ages.
Closest to the runway were some of the most remarkable cars this world has to offer, including the Magnum MK5 and the Hennessey Venom. Designed by Bruno St-Jacques, President and CTO of Magnum who was standing near his masterpiece all night, the Magnum MK5 is Canada’s first street-legal track oriented supercar. After months of buzz, the MK5 made its first official debut at the event on the 21st. “We’ve heard a lot about the Boca Raton Concours, and knew this was the place to introduce the MK5,” said St-Jacques.
Directly across the red carpet from the MK5 was the Hennessey Venom GT, proudly displaying “270.49” on a sheet of paper neatly tucked beneath the windshield wipers. On Feb. 14, the Hennessey Venom GT took the record for fastest production car when it reached 270.49 mph on the shuttle landing runway at Cape Canaveral.
Dozens of other beautiful displays of mechanical genius and prodigious engineering were carefully arranged both in and out of the hangar, each having something different to offer.
