In the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, the true taste of America comes out through barbeque, country roads, raw muscle from Dodge and a much-needed “thank you” to one of the countless people who protect those things. Teaming up with Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Chrysler, Leno took Army Corporal Ethan Laberge out for a joyride through the country, with a special gift waiting at the end.
“I’m 64 years old, and a lot of the soldiers I meet are barely out of there teens,” Leno describes in the video. “In a lot of ways, we’re worlds apart, but I managed to find some common ground.”
Taking Laberge and two friends out for an afternoon off-base in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Leno chats it up over some classic muscle cars, and then pulls out the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat from behind a barn. After going for a ride to get some true southern barbeque, Leno and Laberge share a more serious moment, going over some of the more difficult challenges Laberge has had to overcome as a wounded warrior.
When they return to base, Leno surprises Laberge with a special gift, which Kuniskis and Dodge ensured came to him completely free of any strings. Be sure to watch the video above to see how Leno and Kuniskis thanked a special wounded warrior and to hear more of Laberge’s story.
