Chevrolet has just released official performance numbers on the 2014 Corvette Stingray. However, these numbers come from a Stingray equipped with the Z51 Performance Package.
The Stingray was able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds, had a braking distance from 60-0 in 107 ft, and sustained 1.03 g in cornering. With these performance figures, the 2014 Corvette Stingray was able to complete a lap around the Virginia International Raceway’s 4.2-mile “Grand Course” in just 2:51.78. For comparison purposes, the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE did the same lap in 2:58.34.

“For the new Stingray, we set out to elevate every aspect of the Corvette’s performance,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer. “Considered alone, the acceleration, braking and cornering performance of the Corvette Stingray is truly impressive. More significant is how well they work together, resulting in a lap time at VIR that places the new Stingray in the upper echelon of all sports cars.”
The 2014 Corvette Stingray will be available in the third quarter of 2013 and has an MSRP of $51,995. The Z51 Performance package will cost $2,800 and includes electronic limited-slip differential; dry-sump oiling system; integral brake, differential and transmission cooling; as well as a unique aero package that further improves high-speed stability.
