“For me as a passionate Porsche driver, it has been very interesting to see how these cars are built and to meet the people behind Porsche,” said Pete Sampras, the winner of 14 Grand Slam tournaments, in the press release.
Sampras and Moyá were given a guided tour through the 911 and Boxster assembly by Dr. Oliver Blume, Member of the Executive Board of Production and Logistics. This gave them a chance to see how the cars are made, and they even got a chance to see the Porsche 918 Spyder.
Carlos Moyá was smitten with the 918 Spyder, saying, “without having seen it with one’s eyes it is very difficult to imagine just how much love of detail goes into making this dream car.”
On April 21, the day before the factory tour, Sampras and Moyá competed in the Berenberg Classics “Duel of the Legends” at the Porsche Arena’s Center Court. Moyá won the match 7-5, 6-4. Check out the video below for some of the highlights.
