We all know of Ken Block and his Gymkhana shenanigans, but now he is taking his vehicle expertise off the road and onto the mountains thanks to his new Ford RaptorTRAX, unveiled on his website, HooniganRacing.com, on Jan. 22.
What is the RaptorTRAX exactly? It started life as a Ford F150 Raptor and was built up by Special Vehicle Concepts in California. It includes snowboard racks, a roof basket, a rear-mounted winch, interior storage for snacks and drinks, an exterior stereo setup, exterior-mounted Rigid Industries lighting and, of course, four Mattracks where tires would normally be.
“This project is something I’ve had in my head for awhile now,” said Block on his website. “I absolutely love my daily driver Ford Raptor, especially since I live out here in the mountains of Park City, so to build out this mountain assault vehicle with a Raptor as the base platform made total sense to me. It’s an absolute beast of a machine and I’m stoked with how it’s turned out. Next up is for me to take it deep into the backcountry ASAP to help me and some friends slay some powder on our snowboards.”
If you are interested in seeing it in action, a full video will be released later this year and it will be on display later this week at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.
