James Bond. He is known for having an exquisite taste for gadgets, women, beverages and cars. Men around the world respect Bond’s tastes, with some of them being easier to replicate than others. However, its almost impossible to get the cars that Bond drove, fully equipped with his wondrous gadgets… Until now.
duPont REGISTRY has just listed the original Aston Martin DB5, which can be viewed here, gadgets and all. Gadgets you say? Yes, this Aston Martin DB5 comes equipped with the gadget control board, radar, bumper extensions, revolving license plates, rear anti-bullet screen, hidden machine guns in the front (non-functional, duh) and more than likely, the oil slick dispenser is hidden underneath, one of his most famous gadgets. All of the gadgets were created by John Stears, who is known as ‘the Real Q’. At the time, this was Aston Martin’s latest model.
Of course, you get more than the gadgets, because you also get a classic and timeless 1964 Aston Martin DB5. Its powered by a 4.0-liter inline-6 that puts out 282 bhp and 288 lb-ft of torque, but those numbers are not what makes the DB5 a DB5. Instead, its the classic styling and attention to detail that makes the DB5 such a timeless classic. Standard luxuries that originally came with the DB5 were a cabin decked out with full leather trim, electric windows, twin fuel tanks, reclining seats, wood pile carpets, and even a fire extinguisher.
The car is for sale by Aston Martin specialists RS Williams, located in Surrey and the asking price is $4,698,000 USD.
