The fastest and most powerful production model from Lotus was first unveiled earlier this year on Feb. 18, and in just over a month it has already drawn the eyes of some of the United Kingdom’s most impressive citizens, or so Lotus would like for us to believe this April Fools day.
The Lotus Evora 400 has found a new owner in Daniel Craig, the actor responsible for our modern depiction of fiction’s most popular secret agent. A press release issued by Lotus today shared four photos of Craig examining his new car at the Lotus Headquarters, and with a stern eye turning to a powerful stance behind the wheel, he certainly seems to approve.
With a 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood, the Evora 400 is capable of producing 400 hp and 302 lb-ft while weighing in at 49 pounds lighter than the Evora’s previous generation. All of this combined means the Evora 400 can reach 60 mph from a standstill in 4.1 seconds while topping out at a speed of 186 mph – making this one of the most perfect cars for a track day.

UPDATE: It has been confirmed in a post on Lotus Cars’ Facebook page today that this was, indeed, their own April Fools joke for the world.
However, that should not keep you from perusing our listings below.
