If you’re a fan of soccer, you know that, on Tuesday, Robert Lewandowski of Bayern München (FC Bayern Munich) made history by scoring five goals in nine minutes. If this week wasn’t already exciting for the German football club, they have now received 50 Audi cars, according to a press release issued by the German automaker Sept. 23.
The players had free range over which Audi models they could pick out, with most of them opting for the sportier models; eight players picked out the RS 7 Sportback with the 4-liter TFSI engine. These players included Franck Ribéry, Mario Götze and Javier Martínez. Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso, Manuel Neuer, Coach Pep Guardiola and others opted for the second most popular model with the club, the RS 6 Avant.
To give Thomas Müller and Lewandowski a better idea of what Audi is capable of, Tom Kristensen, nine-time winner of Le Mans 24 Hours, took the pair out for fast laps around Neuberg in the Audi Sport TT Cup. David Alaba and Götze were also given fast laps with Markus Winkelhock behind the wheel.

The team then had the chance to practice their own driving skills with short driving experiences. They tested the R8 on a handling course and went through an off-road course in the Q7. While the press release didn’t tell us if their driving skills were on par with their football skills, I’d like to think they were up to snuff.
Currently, Bayern München sits in first place, undefeated in the Bundesliga.
