Though it had been a colder-than-average week for most of the country, including us here in sunny Florida, a warm crowd holding hot cups of coffee from Melitta gathered bright and early for our monthly Cars and Coffee event Feb. 21.
The sun crept up, leading to a bright Saturday morning ripe for photographing the intricate design lines of dozens of classic, muscle, rare and exotic cars from across the country. Both lots around the building and a large portion of the parking lot next door were all full of enthusiasts and owners of all ages, while each parking spot had something different to offer.
After the cars left our headquarters and made their way home, another event took place. In cooperation with professional photographer Chris Garrison and Phase One, we put on a workshop that taught participants how to properly light paint a car. Each participant was given the chance to use one of Phase One’s magnificent cameras for the workshop and a supercar subject. The finished products from this event will be published very soon.
Some of those spots were filled with cars from our local dealers, including:
The next Cars and Coffee event will be slightly different than our usual routine. Instead of being hosted at our headquarters, on March 21 the duPont REGISTRY Cars and Coffee event will be held in downtown St. Petersburg on the USF St. Pete campus from 7 am to 9 am. 6th Avenue South between 1st St. and 3rd St. will be blocked off for the event.
Be sure to mark March 21 down on your calendars for our next event, and in the meantime, check out the galleries submitted by the talented photographers who braved February’s cold.
