Though the Superbowl is King when it comes to commercials, Cadillac chose a different type of televised event for the unveiling of their new top-of-the-line model.
During the Feb. 23 broadcast of the 87th Academy Awards, Cadillac unveiled the CT6 with the launch of their “Dare Greatly” campaign. As the Wall Street Journal reported Feb. 22, the campaign, which includes print and digital spots, used four separate commercials during the awards show broadcast, each ending with a quick clip of the CT6 driving down a city road.
“Only those who dare drive the world forward,” describes the commercials, after asking, “How dare a 112-year-old carmaker reinvent itself?”

The CT6 was first announced in a Sept. 24, 2014 press release, when Cadillac’s Chief Marketing Officer, Uwe Ellinghaus, stated, “CT6 will constitute an entirely new approach to the passenger sedan, emphasizing a dynamic driving experience and advanced technology.”
