Editor’s Note: The fourth Bugatti Legend was revealed to be the Rembrandt Bugatti Legend and the fifth looks to be the Elisabeth Junek model.
Legends Edition models are a series of Bugatti Veyrons dedicated to important figures from the company’s long history. Three editions have been released thus far, with three models being made for each edition, and, unfortunately, all of these have been sold. Bugatti now plans on adding three more to this prestigious line-up, according to a Feb. 27 article on Autoblog Canada.
The first Legend Edition is dedicated to Jean-Pierre Wimille, who lead Bugatti to two victories at Le Mans. The second model honors Gianoberto Carlo Rembrandt Ettore Bugatti(show in the picture above), the eldest son of Ettore Bugatti. And the most recently introduced model is the Meo Constantini Legend Edition, who was a close friend of Ettore Bugatti and the head of Bugatti’s factory race team for many years. He also won the Targa Florio race two time in the Bugatti Type 35.
Now, according to the article, Bugatti’s next addition to the series will honor Elisabeth Junek, also known as Eliška Junková. She was one of the earliest female racing drivers, and would accompany her husband, Cenek Junek, on his motoring explorations in their Bugatti Type 35B. Her most famous race took place at the 1928 Targa Florio. In this race, she was in the lead until mechanical issues caused her position to drop to fifth place.
The Elisabeth Junek edition model will be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva International Motor Show next week. Stay with us for the official unveiling.
