To celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the BMW M5, the German automaker is releasing a special version of the model, according to a press release issued today by BMW.
The BMW M5 “30 Jahre M5” (30 years of the M5), has increased performance, setting it apart from other fifth-generation M5s. This special edition M5 now has a 4.4-liter V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology that produces 600 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a 0-62 mph sprint to be completed in just 3.9 seconds.
That being said, the 30 Jahre M5 is the most powerful car in BMW’s history, according to the press release.

Its interior focuses on celebrating the model’s 30th anniversary. “30 Jahre M5” lettering can be found on the front door sill, as well as on a plaque that is integrated into an Aluminum Trace trim strip that spans across the front passenger side of the cabin. Even the seats have “30 Jahre M5” embroidery on their backrests.
BMW will be creating only 300 examples of the “30 Jahre M5,” making it an instant collector’s item. A price has not been given for the car as of yet.
