This is BMW’s i3 Coupe Concept that is set to debut at the 2012 LA Auto Show. The carbon fiber body presents a fresh interpretation of BMW’s i “stream flow” design, which gives it great aerodynamic qualities. On the inside, this concept vehicle is very spacious with two individual rear seats and plenty of head room. The i3 Coupe Concept is also the world’s first fully networked electric vehicle thanks to BMW’s ConnectedDrive functions. This system allows the user to transfer data seamlessly between their vehicle and smartphone.
More importantly, the i3 Coupe Concept is powered by solely by an electric motor. It produces 170hp and d184 lb-ft of torque, all of which is delivered through a single-speed transmission. The batteries for this powerful engine are stored beneath the floor, which lowers the car’s center of gravity.
