ALPINA is celebrating 50 years of their company by creating 50 special saloons and 50 coupes, as was unveiled in a press release issued today. These cars are based on the B5 Bi-Turbo and the B6 Bi-Turbo, respectively. Each vehicle comes with an exclusive handcrafted “Edition 50” body and trim.
The V8 powering the vehicles is rated at 600 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful road car they have ever crafted. This massive power can get the cars from 0-62 mph in just 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 204 mph. When compared to the standard B5 Bi-Turbo, there is an additional 60 hp and 52 lb-ft found underneath the hood.
“Edition 50 is the ultimate expression of the ALPINA values,” said ALPINA GB brand manager Matthew Stripling in the press release. “It combines very high levels of long-term comfort with superb performance that is available from low engine speeds, making it effortlessly fast. Add the deep base soundtrack and the feeling of bespoke luxury, and you have a highly engaging car that offers a unique set of attributes for the discerning enthusiast.”
Inside, the Edition 50 is laid with black leather and Forest Green quilting, complemented by yellow and black stitching. A special ‘1965-2015’ metal emblem can be found on the seat backs, while each car’s edition number is displayed on a plaque on the center console and also on the keyring.
