The 2015 BMW X4 has just been officially added to the German automaker’s line-up, according to a press release issued today.
The X4 takes plenty of cues from the X6 and X3, but in the end, it has its own place as a unique crossover. Its exterior is highlighted by a series of sporty features, such as the large air intakes on the front end, and the roofline reaches its highest point above the driver’s head, only to gently slope down like a sporting coupe. A small change that not many will notice is that the driver and front passenger seats sit 20mm lower to the ground than they would in the X3.
Upon release, the X4 will be offered with three gas and three diesel engine options. Included in these options are the X4 xDrive35i and the X4 xDrive 35d. The flagship xDrive 35i’s 3.0 liter straight-six engine creates 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a 0-62 mph sprint in 5.5 seconds. The X4 xDrive35d has an even more impressive output of 313 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, and a quicker 0-62 mph time of just 5.2 seconds. The engine options are listed below.
- X4 xDrive35i: 306 hp & 295 lb-ft of torque
- X4 xDrive28i: 245 hp & 258 lb-ft of torque
- X4 xDrive20i: 184 hp & 199 lb-ft of torque
- X4 xDrive35d: 313 hp & 465 lb-ft of torque
- X4 xDrive30d: 258 hp & 413 lb-ft of torque
