The O’Gara Coach Company currently has a legend and a prodigy both sitting on their showroom floor. Giving customers a glimpse into Bentley’s racing past and future, the luxury and exotic car dealership is housing the Speed 8 and GT3 race cars.
Racing from 2001 to 2003, the Speed 8 is a Le Mans Prototype race car that was Bentley’s return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans after 68 years of absence. In its racing career, it would claim 4 class wins in as many competitions, and an overall win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2003. After 2003, the Bentley racing program ended, retiring the Speed 8.
It wasn’t until 2012 that Bentley unveiled their plans to enter the world of motorsports again with the Continental GT3-R. The model was officially unveiled at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it took part in the famous hillclimb. Being recently unveiled, the GT3 has yet to perform in an official race, but it is only a matter of time until it hits the tracks with tires spinning.
