Bentley has just unveiled their new Continental GT3 race car at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. This new racer is powered by the automaker’s 4.-liter V8, but has been reconfigured to produce 600 hp. Mated to the engine is an Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox with a limited slip differential.
Bentley also created an all new aerodynamic package for the racer, to ensure that it “performs competitively”. This includes a top-mounted carbon fiber rear wing, a carbon fiber splitter, and revisions to the bonnet, bumpers, fenders and sills.
Replacing the standard Continental GT’s air springs is a double wishbone suspension configuration that is also fitted with four-way adjustable racing dampers.
The interior was also modified and in a very grand sense. The wood and leather interior trim, the electrical systems, and other luxuries were removed from the inside of the car in order to put the Continental GT3 at its target weight of 2866 lbs.
The Continental GT3 will start its competition runs in the FIA Blancpain Series in 2014. In the meantime, the car will undergo development track word and will run the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb from July 12th until the 14th.
