Having a car tuned to the tune of over 1,000 hp used to be a groundbreaking feat, but now it seems as though aftermarket tuners are using 2,000 hp as the benchmark. For example, last week we wrote about three 2,000+ hp Lamborghini Gallardos and, today, we’re bringing you a 2,100+ hp Audi R8 GT.
Claiming to be the world’s fastest R8, this drag demon packs an insane amount of power thanks to its twin-turbo setup from Underground Racing. And, as for those who attended the Texas Invitational Fall 2015 event, they had a chance to see the demon unleashed.
During the course of the event, this radical R8 GT was pitted against a great variety of high-powered cars, including a 1,000 hp Corvette ZR1, a 2,100+ hp Gallardo and, in the final round, a 2,200+ hp T1 Race GT-R with massive drag tires in the rear. With so much horsepower on the strip, you don’t even have to guess that each race was as exciting as the next.
YouTuber 1320video attended the event and captured it in a video he uploaded Oct. 9. You can see all of the action for yourself by clicking the “play” button below.
