Throughout 2013, Audi has released numerous new concepts to keep us in awe and consistently guessing what their next innovative vehicle will be. To start the 2014, they’ll be showing us an entirely new concept at the upcoming Jan. 6 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nev., the Audi Laserlight Sport quattro. According to a Jan. 2 press release, the car will feature a dynamic range of performance crossed innovative technologies in lighting especially.
“The new show car demonstrates technical ‘Vorsprung’ on many levels,” said Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of AUDI AG in that same press release.
He continues by saying, “On-board this car we have e-tron technology with 515 kW of power and 2.5 l/100 km (94.09 US mpg) fuel economy; laser headlights that leave all previous systems in the dark with its higher performance as well as new display and operating systems with cutting-edge electronic performance. We are showing the future of Audi here.”
The concept will be powered by a plug in hybrid system coupled with a 4.0-Liter biturbo V8 producing a total power output of an incredible 700 hp and 590 lbs-ft of torque. The concept will not only be innovative with lighting, but also boasts a new lightweight design to launch this supercar from 0-62 mph in just 3.7 seconds.
Audi brings to light yet another intriguing concept that keeps us itching to see exactly what vehicle will see the line-up. Perhaps they are waiting to see which vehicle receives the best response, or maybe each is but a test to create one incredible vehicle in the end. The concepts are all certainly looking incredibly similar, what do you think of this one?
