If you live in the U.K., and you’re thinking about speeding, you should just give up, right now. Because of this:
Behold the Atom PL: a bespoke, police-spec edition of the Ariel Atom, as reported by Leftlanenews.com on June 3. It certainly dresses the part, wearing all the right livery and sporting the flashing lights. Ariel has also beefed up the supercharged Honda 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to create 350-hp.

In a car that weighs only 1,212 lbs, the Atom PL achieves an incredible power-to-weight ratio of 0.29 hp/lb, allowing it to sprint from 0-60 mph in only 2.5 seconds. You can put all the power you want into a car, but sometimes you just can’t beat plain old physics. Perhaps the only people who could ever dream of a chance to escape a chase by this car are the motorcyclists – which is convenient, because the Atom PL’s primary utilization will be for motorcycle safety. Good thing, too – we wouldn’t want to see this thing try to mount any curbs.
