The Dodge Challenger Hellcat needs no introduction, really. But in case you need to brush up on the car, here’s some quick info.
This new muscle car features an all-new supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI, which is the most powerful V8 engine Chrysler has ever produced. Yes, under the hood is a V8 that produces over 600 hp. The engine also has premium-grade, heat-treated aluminum-alloy cylinder heads that can take the heat from all of the added power. Mated to this engine is either a six-speed manual transmission or a new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.
Drivers are also be able to choose from three driving modes, which alter the car’s over-all performance by controlling horsepower, transmission shift speeds, steering, paddle shifters (automatic transmission only), traction and suspension. These modes are Sport, Track and Default mode. Default mode is what the car is in automatically when the car starts, while Sport mode adds performance over Default mode. Ultimately, Track mode delivers the Hellcat’s maximum performance capabilities.
Okay, so that might have been a lot, but it’s all worth a read.
