Now that the new 2017 Ford GT is out, collectors are going to start picking up the previous generation of the American supercar. If you happen to be one of those collectors, then we have one heck of a mean Ford GT for you and it’s this month’s Publisher’s Choice in the September 2017 issue of duPont REGISTRY.
This GT has been upgraded, tuned and cared for by professionals in the owner’s pursuit of making it the best out there. The owner originally purchased the car in March 2006 and has since tastefully modified the car. The upgrades include:
-New AccuFab built 800 HP motor
-Freshened up roughly 3,000 miles ago – Clutch, OEM transaxle, fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, new HRE wheels and Pirelli tires
-Custom integrated traction and launch control
-Custom fire suppression system
-Custom fully integrated brake cooling system including integrated pit fans
-AP Racing brakes
-Custom exhaust reminiscent of the 1960’s Le Mans winners
-Subtle Carbon fiber accents throughout
-Clear bra since new
-All OEM parts as removed are available
In total, over $500,000 was invested into the car, which is a perfect way to quantify just how dedicated the owner was in his pursuit of the perfect Ford GT. The owner notes that these upgrades allow the GT to perform a rolling 1.5-mile run at 222 mph on 91 pump octane with a passenger– and that’s without any change in the tune.
Why is he parting with such a magnificent car? Fortunately, for him, he was picked to be one of the 750 to buy a new 2017-2019 Ford GT. Upon purchase, this GT will come with all paperwork since new, including purchase documents, Ford sale and marketing materials. All original books, keys, OEM car cover and more are also included.
