Porsche, one of the most sought after manufacturers, is once again proving that the finer automobiles will prevail, even in slow economies. Porsche has had a 15 percent increase in global sales for the first eight months of 2013. This means more than 106,000 units, most of which were the Cayenne, have been delivered to customers worldwide. In order to flaunt their success and show off their latest and greatest in the lineups, Porsche will be at the Frankfurt Motor Show presenting their limited edition “50 years of the Porsche,” featuring the 911 Turbo.
“At Porsche, ‘fascination sports car’ is always a key consideration. The 918 Spyder and the Panamera S E-Hybrid are masterpieces of engineering and the perfect embodiment of the Engineered by Porsche philosophy,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche, in a press release Sept. 5
As for the United States, the Cayenne, Boxster, Cayman, and Panamera have been the highest in demand. In fact, as of August of this year, they have sold 25 percent more units than last year. At around 28,500 units, that makes the US number one for Porsche sales in 2013. China followed closely behind with only 4,000 fewer orders, still 17 percent more than the same period last year.
Porsche continues to amaze while they enforce new standards for luxury performance cars and meet the exceeding demands of their customers. It’ll be interesting to see how things change when we see the much anticipated 2015 production of the 918 Spyder. Perhaps the Spyder will eventually lead to the development of even more hybrids from the German manufacturer after the success of their current lineup and the future demand for more.
