Scott Schuman has become an internationally recognized fashion icon through his blog, The Sartorialist, where he documents the nuances of street fashion and cultures around the world through his photography.
For his trip from Milan to Paris for the Spring fashion weeks in each city, another icon of blended styles and nuanced beauty accompanied his trek: the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS. In a series of posts to their Facebook page April 5 and a March 30 YouTube video, Porsche documented the journey and Schuman’s meditations on the subtle beauty of classic designs meeting modern innovation.
“You really feel like you’re in the most modern car you can have, but overall, it still has that beautiful classic design,” Schuman described of the 911 in the video, which you can watch above.

One particularly beautiful aspect of enjoying a drive that Schuman zeroes in on in the video is the unique ability to stop whenever you please. While the performance of a car can greatly influence the overall enjoyment of a journey, Schuman argues that it is also the ability to pull over and become a part of the landscape surrounding you that makes this form of transportation one of the greatest mankind has access to.
