Kicking off his 10th year of racing and second with Porsche, Patrick Dempsey will be racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) races this year, once again sitting behind the wheel of a stunning Porsche.
A video from Porsche published to YouTube April 8 gives us a close but brief look at the black and robin’s egg blue Porsche 911 RSR, which will make its debut at the April 12 6 Hours of Silverstone event. As a Nov. 20, 2014 newsroom article announced, Porsche driver Patrick Long will be accompanying Dempsey as a teammate, and the two will be racing for the Dempsey Proton Racing team in the GTE-Am class.
The Dempsey-Proton Racing team comes as a result of the combining of Dempsey Racing, a US based team that has since been disolved, and Proton Racing, and they plan to participate in as many of the season’s events as possible. In 2014, Dempsey’s highlights included a fifth place finish at the 24-hours of Le Mans, a third place finish in Austin and a second place finish in Laguna Seca.
