The gap between the Carrera S and the GT3 has been further bridged with Porsche’s latest 911 Carrera GTS. Offered as a Coupe and a Cabrio, this latest installment in the 911 lineup is worthy of its name.
In the latest online article from Christophorus, Porsche’s customer magazine, the 911 GTS’s driving dynamics, power capabilities and aesthetic details are all described alongside a look at the history of the model.
Standing for “Grand Touring Sport,” the 911 GTS is meant to be the perfect balance between plush luxury and raw sport, creating a deluxe experience for both driver and passenger.
“The response to the first GTS that we launched in the 997 series was overwhelming,” said August Achleitner, head of the 911 model line, in the article. “Today we know that the GTS version more or less precisely lines up with our customers’ vision of a markedly sporty and yet comfortable 911. This insight was both an incentive and a duty as we developed the second edition.”
