Though the general public might not have heard of Sabine Schmitz or Chris Harris, the car world definitely has. According to Telegraph, Schmitz and Harris could be joining Chris Evans to host on the newly rebranded Top Gear.
Schmitz, the German-born driver dubbed the “Queen of the Nürburgring“, gained popularity as a BMW “Ring taxi” driver where she provided fans of the 20.8km Nordschleife circuit with an entertaining and oftentimes exhilarating tour of the circuit. She is also well –well known for her Nürburgring VLN endurance race times.
Harris, a British journalist with a love for drifting, has made quite the name for himself as the ever popular host of the Chris Harris on Cars YouTube channel. He was introduced to the car world through his well-articulated articles for the European-based magazine, AutoCar, and has since become a staple in the car community with his video reviews on various autos.
Telegraph reports that the announcement of the new hosts comes after Top Gear departure of two behind-the-scenes team members—executive producer Lisa Clark and script producer Tom Ford.
