Earlier today, Fiat Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne was officially named Ferrari’s new CEO. As if that wasn’t news enough, the newly named head of Ferrari is now talking about the possibility of a LaFerrari Spider.
This news comes on the heels of talks of mergers with technology companies and the future of the car business, which has been greatly impacted by Tesla’s Model 3 reservations. Electric could truly be changing the face of the industry, though Marchionne is hesitant to jump on the electric bandwagon. According to an article by Automobile Magazine, Marchionne states the LaFerrari Spider is no secret to current Ferrari aficionados and owners, as the company has already contacted prospective buyers regarding the topless version of the famed supercar.
Marchionne confirmed the Spider version of the LaFerrari is the only car directly related to the aforementioned supercar that the company has in its mind to create. This assertion dispells the current rumors of a LaFerrarina and the Dino V-6, of which, Marchionne states, the brand hasn’t figured out the details.
So what do you think? Did you know for certain that Ferrari had a Spider version of the LaFerrari in the works?
