head of its New York Auto Show debut, the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG has been unveiled to the public. The all-new CLA class is based on the A-class and B-class compact cars is quite the looker, and the AMG counterpart looks to be a huge seller.
To give the CLA45 AMG a more “AMG-esque” appearance, Mercedes has applied a few welcome touches. It looks as though carbon fiber trim pieces have been added to the front lip, side skirts, and possibly the rear diffuser. Also, air vents have been added to the rear bumper. Seen in the pictures provided, a beefy AMG high-performance braking system can be seen that is highlighted by the bright-red calipers.
Under the hood is an AMG 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that has a 4MATIC all wheel drive system. Power is sent to the wheels via a DCT 7-speed sports transmission. AMG also included independently developed front and rear axles as well as an electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering system.
Mercedes plans on sending the 2014 CLA45 AMG to customers later this year. The price tag on the car is yet unknown, but expect a it to start around $50,000, not a bad price for an AMG. Check back for more about this car when it is officially unveiled at the New York Auto Show starting March 29th.
