Teased in a press release issued by McLaren Automotive today is a track-based version of the new 650S Coupe. It’s more than likely that this new model will race in the FIA’s GT3 class and will take up the GT3 moniker, just like the 12C GT3.

From what we can tell in the teaser shot provided in the press release, the new 650S will feature Pirelli tires, center-locking wheels, a large fixed rear wing and body panels that increase the car’s aerodynamics. Of course, there will be other changes made to the car in the name of shedding pounds, which will most likely include a stripped interior and copious amounts of carbon fiber.
This new McLaren 650S GT3 will be unveiled at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 27, so be sure to stay with us for more information as it is released.
